This great collection of glass plate negatives taken by photographers F. Edgar Brown and Walter E. Corbin in the late 19th century and early 20th century has many images of Brimfield scenes and residents. In addition to what is posted here, we will develop many more, so stay tuned!

101 Things To Know About Brimfield by local author Mike DeFalco highlights the people, places, and events that have helped shape Brimfield’s almost 300 year history. Many of the topics are well known, such as the Brimfield Flea Market, Hitchcock Academy, General William Eaton and the First Congregational Church, but most are little known or have been obscured by the mists of time. For instance, few people know that Brimfield has what may be the only horse cemetery in Massachusetts or that a former resident, Thomas Proctor Howard, was part of the Lewis and Clark Expedition or that another resident, Tabitha Moffat Brown, was designated the “Mother of Oregon” by that state’s legislature.
